Thank you for viewing my galleries. Over the past 15 years, I have taken photos in various places, of varied people and events, since the film days. The digital cameras I have used range from the basic point-and-shoots (Kodak CX7330, Kodak V550), to the more advanced prosumers (Lumix FZ7 and TZ5, Kodak V1253 and Canon D10 for underwater use). Inevitably, I had to begin shooting with DSLRs - all started with Canon 400D/XTi, and more recently, the Canon 7D and the Canon 6D. Lately I have also been traveling with the mirrorless wonder Sony NEX-5, which will soon yield to my new small favorite - the Canon 100D.

Update on my gear: Now shooting with Canon EOS R6 Mark II, EOS R7 and Sony A7C.

I have come to the conclusion that it is the eye of the photographer that matters, aside from timing, lighting, exposure and all those elements that lead to the capture of a breath-taking image. Inspiration is what makes the difference; the difference between a good photo and an ordinary photo is usually measured in seconds, not hours or days; it is usually a matter of moving your camera a little bit to the left, right, up or down, once you are in the right place at the right time.

For my photography students, let me know if you need more info on how specific photos were taken, what techniques were used or how the camera settings were optimized for the shot.

If you find any of my photos interesting, please leave a comment or drop me a note. I would be glad to give you more info.

Lastly, while I believe that Photoshop is a good software, I have learned how not to depend on it. I have made a decision not to be good at using Photoshop. In the process I had been self-compelled to improve my photography and not my editing skills. I use a much simpler software to crop and do basic post-processing on my photos. And that is how it will always be for me.

Please leave your comments. I would love to hear from you. I will read and appreciate all comments - they are all positive because even the areas of improvement give me ideas how to become better.

Thanks!
